Crew Member - Jacquie

I have been working in travel for over thirty years with 10 years working at Jetset Tours in Adelaide in Australia before moving back to the UK where I spent 23 years at a Luxury agency in sales specialising in luxury European resorts and ultra luxury cruising. I have been specialising in cruise for the last three years here at The Cruise Room.

As I’ve been fortunate to spend most of my career in the luxury side of travel, I have been able to experience some amazing experiences and trip to parts of the world I would only have ever dreamed of including Japan, Australia, Norway and more.

Favourite Cruise Line 

My favourite cruise line is a tricky one, but I'd have to narrow it down to Celebrity and Cunard, on whom I have spent my own holidays, most recently on the elegant Queen Victoria. Although I've been lucky enough to be on Celebrity's Edge Class ships I particularly like the previous class which included the beautiful spacious Celebrity Silhouette! Newer isn't always better in my opinion... 

Favourite Destination 

So many to choose from, but the Med has so much to offer, particularly the Adriatic coast, from Croatia down to Montenegro and the Greek Isles. Next on my list is a river cruise on the Rhine with the Mekong on my wish list for 26/27. 

Favourite Cruise Memory

Can I have two?? My first ever cruise with Seabourn - I'll never forget waking up early in the morning and sitting on my balcony enjoying a coffee whilst sailing down one of the beautiful fjords, gliding silently through the misty waters - absolute magic! Your first cruise is so special, there's so many moments that you never read about in a brochure! 

My most recent cruise with was on Fred Olsen's Bolette so I sailed back into Liverpool at dawn - it brought back fond memories of my dad's stories of his time in the Merchant Navy and how happy he always felt returning home after months at sea.
