Having had an exciting career in musical theatre and working onboard AIDA Cruises as a lead vocalist for 2 years, I recently returned to the Wirral to start my family.
When the opportunity arose to work with the crew at The Cruise Room, I leapt at the chance! I had always holidayed on cruise ships as a child so had already caught 'the bug' and working onboard gave me such an amazing array of travel experience.
Getting to see so many parts of the world is my favourite thing about cruising with being in a different port every day. I was lucky enough to sail the Baltics, Norway, Iceland, Canada, the USA, the Caribbean and three Transatlantic crossings. My dream now would be to cruise around Alaska and over in the Far East.
Favourite Cruise Line
We always used to sail with P&O Cruises as children, but recently I visited Holland America's Nieuw Statendam, and I fell in love with the ship. The music theme throughout the ship created such an amazing vibe and I loved the multi-cultural feel onboard with their vast array of food. Their Alaska programme also has me very intrigued!
Favourite Destination
It must be Bonaire in the Caribbean. It is such a beautiful little Dutch island, and it really stole my heart! I hired a moped scooter to bike around the island once - it is only small, but the terrain is so different - you can see wild flamingos in lagoons or desert like areas with cactus fields in one part but then you’ll be on the most incredible, white sandy beaches with the clearest water around the next corner! It really has the best snorkelling I have ever experienced.
Favourite Cruise Memory
Apart from belting out 'The Show Must Go On' in our Queen show every cruise which made me feel like a total rockstar...sailing in and out of New York was incredibly special! We had a three night stopover on 3 different occasions, so I was able to catch plenty of Broadway shows. I was also lucky enough to dock next to the Disney Dream in Manhattan which my best friend from the Wirral was working on! It was such an amazing coincidence, and I got to visit her onboard for the day and take a tour of the ship.
